Training For Watershed Development
| Training for Watershed Development The main
thrust under Common Guidelines for Watershed
Development for the major schemes of IWDP, DPAP
and DDP is on peoples participation by involving them in the decision making,
implementation and monitoring of the projects through formal and informal groups and
village level institutions. The guidelines also lay emphasis on training for watershed
development. The project estimate provides for 5% for providing
training to the functionaries for
successful implementation of the
projects. For successful implementation of these Area Development Projects, Government had constituted a Committee on Training for Watershed Development under the Chairmanship of Shri V. B. Eswaran. The Eswaran Committee emphasized the need for massive training programme for different level of functionaires in the implementation of the Projects. Accordingly, guidelines have since been formulated to provide financial assistance to the SIRDs, ETCs and other Training Institutions, identified by the State Governments for imparting training on Watershed Management. |
